LSCSD Capital Construction Project
Capital Project
After completing a facilities study this past year as required by NYS, the District is moving forward with a capital construction project proposal in the 2016-2017 school year.
While the study revealed there are no critical emergency items that need to be immediately addressed, it did outline a number of areas that are in an end-of-life state and require attention to maintain the safety and integrity of our buildings.
There are three distinct phases to this process. During the upcoming fall months, the Board of Education (BOE) will gather data as to what improvements will be part of the proposal. After this first portion is complete, all identified items and areas will be prioritized in a formal proposal from the BOE. This proposal will then be presented to the community as a proposition in the regular District budget vote in May, 2017. This date was chosen as a convenience to avoid multiple trips to the polls. The final proposal will be made with the expressed intent of offering the lowest cost possible to the taxpayers in our community.
